Session 4 - The Nurturer
What happens when a husband stops paying attention to his wife?
In Session 4 of The Missing Man: The Power of His Presence, we study Ephesians 5:28–29 and the calling of a husband to become a nurturer who nourishes and cherishes his wife with attentiveness, tenderness, and intentional care.
Many men spend years learning:
their schedules,
careers,
hobbies,
health concerns,
and personal needs…
…but never truly learn their wives. This message confronts the danger of emotional neglect and challenges men to stop trying to “figure out” their wives and instead begin carefully studying, understanding, and nurturing them.
In this session we discuss:
what it means to be “one flesh”
why what hurts your wife should matter to you
the biblical meaning of nourish and cherish
how attentiveness strengthens intimacy
why marriages slowly starve through neglect
how pornography destroys nurture by teaching men to consume rather than cherish women
This message also explores how a husband helps his wife grow spiritually, emotionally, and relationally instead of merely managing life together.
A missing man becomes disengaged.
A present man pays attention.
He notices.
He listens.
He nurtures.
He cherishes.
Because you do not neglect what is part of you.
