This page serves to inform you of the many ministries we have here at Liberty as well as give our members an opportunity to see where they may want to become involved in the church.
Our church bus travels throughout our community to provide transportation for children who have no other way of getting to or from church. The bus runs each Sunday as well as Wednesday evenings. Riders are needed to ensure that the children are not too rowdy or disruptive to the driver. Drivers should have a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Building & Grounds Committee
The Building & Grounds Committee keeps up with the routine maintenance of the facilities in order to provide a pleasant worship experience for all who attend. If you enjoy home improvement projects, or just working with your hands, the Building &Grounds Committee might be the place for you!
The Decorating Committee handles all the decorations for the sanctuary and the fellowship hall for special events and occasions. Throughout the year, they change the arrangements in the sanctuary, but most of the involvement comes during the holidays and special church functions. If you enjoy decorating, your talents can be put to use here.
The Fellowship Committee plans and organizes church-wide events such as church picnics, socials, meals, etc. Most events are held on campus, but occasionally will be held at another location. If you enjoy the ministry of hospitality, the fellowship committee has a place for you!
The CD ministry at Liberty Baptist Church has been providing copies of worship services and singing to shut-ins for nearly 20 years. If you have a heart for those who are unable to attend church on a regular basis, this ministry might be for you! No professional experience with duplication is required.
Have you ever wondered what those guys in the booth at the back of the church were doing? They are the sound techinicians. They ensure that the sound level is appropriate during the worship service. Sound technicians need to be available during the worship services. They also help with special events such as weddings held in our sanctuary. Training is available and necessary for this ministry.
Decision counselors are available each service during the invitation to meet with those who walk down the aisle. They may pray with someone, provide information on becoming a member of Liberty Baptist Church, or may guide a person through the most important decision of their life, accepting Jesus as their Savior and Lord. Counselor training is held occasionally throughout the year.
At Liberty, Sunday School life groups are an integral part of our outreach. In a growing church, it is important to reach out to others through our small groups, where people can form closer relationships than in a larger worship setting. If you are part of a Sunday School class, you should already be receiving information about how you can become involved in our outreach program. Childcare workers are needed, as well as letter writers, and people willing to make phone calls during these dedicated outreach/visitation times.
The ushers assist with helping guests find seats, and meet any other need which may arise during a worship service. They also distribute guest packets and collect the offering. Ushers are a vital part of our church, as they are often our church's "first impression" along with our greeters. They should be open and friendly with our guests, helping to make them feel at home here at Liberty.
Greeters meet guests and members at the doors as they enter for services. Much like the ushers, they are often the "first impression" a guest has of Liberty Baptist Church. Greeters will often help guests find a Sunday School room, and perhaps take them to the nursery and preschool area. If you love people, and always have a smile on your face, this is definitely an area for you to consider.
Our Missions Committee plans local service projects and also helps to educate the church on missions around the world. They organize mission trips and look for opportunities to assist Christian ministries. Even if you don't want to travel, you might still have a heart for missions. There are opportunities right here at home.
Vacation Bible School
Vacation Bible School is an annual event that reaches out to children in our community who may not be able to attend church regularly. Through this ministry, many children come to know Jesus as their Savior. All kinds of talent and skills are needed for VBS. Not only are teachers needed, but workers are needed to help with food, crafts, decorating, administrative tasks, and general "crowd control". There IS a place for you in VBS!
Adult Sunday School
Adult Sunday School is an integral part of Liberty Baptist Church. It is an opportunity for adults to get together in small groups to study the Bible. Many close relationships are formed through the Sunday School ministry. Although teachers are certainly needed, there are many ways to become involved in the Sunday School ministry. Many classes have prayer leaders, fellowship leaders, and other ways to become involved.
The Adult Choir provides an opportunity for people to use their voices for the Lord. The choir leads the congregation in worship. This is done through music that exalts Jesus, encourages fellow believers, and draws others to Him. If you enjoy worshipping the Lord through music, the choir has a place for you. Rehearsals take place on Wednesday nights at 7:45pm.
It has been said that youth are the "church of tomorrow". At Liberty, we believe they are a vital part of the "church of today". The Youth Ministry provides a way to reach teens for Christ, showing them His love and helping to make them disciples of Jesus. It covers many areas, including Sunday School, Wednesday evening Bible studies and several events and retreats throughout the year. Off campus ministry such as our 12th Man Team serves our local high schools by providing assistance on and off the field.
Jesus demonstrated love for children, instructing His disciples to "Let the little children come to me." The Children's Ministry at Liberty seeks to do just that. Our desire is for children to learn to trust Jesus as their Savior and Lord, and to grow in their Christian life. Many different talents can be useful in our Children's ministry.
The AWANA ministry provides our children with a fun and exciting time in which they learn more about becoming a Christian. It encourages scripture memorization and principles that teach them to grow in their faith. Even if you do not teach, there are many areas of service. Leaders are needed to simply listen to children recite their verses, and encourage them in their efforts. Leaders are also needed during game time, where children learn to work together as a team.
The Preschool/Extended Care department provides preschool age children with foundational truths about Jesus and the Bible. Extended Care is rotated between several people throughout the month, in order to allow adults to serve and still attend worship services on a regular basis. Helpers in this area would work with children to help nurture them in safe, loving environment.
The Senior Ministry encourages fellowship among our senior adults by planning a monthly lunch, as well as special events and trips throughout the year. Seniors are encouraged to remain an active, vital part of church life at Liberty Baptist Church. If you are available to help during the week, and enjoy planning activities, this would be a great area to become involved in.
The Financial Ministry seeks to equip and empower people to become better stewards of what God has given them. Through teaching, benevolence, and one-on-one counseling, this ministry works to assist those who desire a better understanding of how God would have them manage their finances. This ministry also works closely with the Deacon body in making decisions regarding church benevolence. If you possess the Spiritual Gifts of discernment and mercy, and are willing to take the training required to become a certified Budget Counselor, this might be the area the Lord would have you serve.
Shoe Box Ministry
Each year at Christmas, Liberty Baptist participates in a missions project through the Samaritan's Purse, headed by Franklin Graham. The project is called "Operation Christmas Child" and seeks to provide a Christmas gift for children around the world in areas stricken by poverty. Individuals pack shoe boxes filled with small items for children, such as toys, crayons, and toiletry items. A small donation is also included with each box to help cover shipping costs. Although this is a Christmas time project, many people choose to collect items for the shoe boxes all year round, in order to be able to provide more boxes at Christmas. You can help by keeping this project in mind year round!
